ABOUT ROHEPAT PLATFORM
RoHepat is the first integrated initiative designed to support the Romanian authorities in designing and implementing a sustainable National Strategy for Hepatitis Control, so that Romania can reach the target of viral hepatitis control and elimination until 2030.
ABOUT RoHEPAT SUMMIT
Organised during the Romanian Presidency to the EU Council, the Summit is the first large scale event in Romania addressing hepatitis elimination and control policies & what – should – be – done commitments, with a 360 perspective on topics and stakeholders
CONTEXT AT A GLANCE
The target of hepatitis C elimination until 2030 and other viral hepatitis control, Romania has more steps to undergo, in terms of vision and health policies.
A National Strategy for Viral Hepatitis Control (NSVHC) is currently under public consultations
Romania has one of the biggest prevalence of HCV infections in the European Union. Thus, Romanian authorities have made important steps forward in promoting a sustainable legislation to improve Hepatitis C treatment
ROHEPAT STRaTEGIC OBJECTIVES
Gather all the relevant stakeholders in inclusive dialogues meant to shape a coherent and effective NSVHC*
Support the authorities in designing and implementing a sustainable NSVHC* and viral hepatitis control, backed up by innovative financing instruments
Facilitate proper visions and adequate health policies
*NSVHC = National Strategy for Viral Hepatitis Control
ROHEPAT FUNCTIONAL OBJECTIVES
determine the stakeholders to:
Replicate for other viral hepatitis the kind of forward-thinking policies as the ones already in place for Hepatitis C
Put in place a predictable and continuous financing
Put in place adequate prevention policies to help early detection (implementation of national screening programs)
Put in place nationwide educational programs & information campaigns
Put in place a national monitoring system
Ensure the patients access
to innovative treatments
Back up the NSVHC* by a clear action plan with deadlines and institutions in charge
